Exterior Features
The 2013 Ford Focus is sold as a 5-door hatchback or a 4-door sedan in S, SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels. The Focus ST and the Focus Electric trims are available only as a 5-door hatchback. Standard are power-operated blind-spot side mirrors and an Easy Fuel capless fuel filling system.
Interior Features
The Focus S is equipped with air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a stereo with CD player and an auxiliary input jack.
Optional Features
Depending on the trim selected, the 2013 Focus is available with aluminum wheels, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, Sync connectivity, MyFord Touch infotainment system, leather seats, keyless entry and push-button ignition, power sunroof, premium Sony audio system, and a navigation system.
Under the Hood
All Focus trim levels except the ST and Electric models have a direct-injection, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine generating 160 horsepower and 146 lb.-ft. of torque. Power is transferred to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed PowerShift dual dry clutch automated manual transmission.
The Focus ST is equipped with a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine creates 252 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque, and includes an Overboost feature that extends the torque curve from 3,000 rpm to 4,500 rpm for up to 15 seconds.
The Focus Electric model is equipped with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack that powers an electric drive motor through a single-speed transmission. This powertrain produces 143 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque.
Fuel Economy
Official EPA fuel-economy estimates were not available for the 2013 Focus when this overview was written.
Safety
Every 2013 Ford Focus is equipped with 6 air bags, anti-lock brakes, and a traction and stability control system. The available MyKey technology allows owners to defeat the ability to switch off the stability control system, set maximum speed settings, and more. Optional features are a reversing camera, Sync connectivity with 911 Assist, front and rear park-assist sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
